Looking Forward to July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025

Rotary's new theme for the next Rotary year has been announced:

THE MAGIC OF ROTARY

We Rotarians know that The Magic of Rotary
happens in the neediest areas of our world, in hospitals and laboratories, in lands torn apart by
natural catastrophes, pandemics, and war, and
when people of different cultures and
nationalities can meet in peace.

Have you experienced The Magic of Rotary?
Think about that and, when you have,
share your story with others!

Stephanie Urchick of the Rotary Club of
McMurray, PA, has been named Rotary's second
woman international president.
She will be leading us in continuing
to Create Hope In The World as we make
The Magic of Rotary happen in year 2024-2025.

LEWISTON - AUBURN MAINE ASSISTANCE

As we did with Happy Dollars that went to Maui relief, this week a check will go to the Lewiston-Auburn Chamber Foundation c/o the Androscoggin Bank for assisting those individuals and families who are still dealing with the horrific effects of the shooting in Lewiston. Thank you to all members who participated in this caring effort.

EXCITING NEWS: FRIENDS FOREVER ARE BACK
AND STRONGER THAN EVER!

Jessica has been successful in re-starting our
cherished connection with Friends Forever International!
On February 13, two representatives of FFI
will be joining us via Zoom to let us in on
their expanded programs that bring young
people from various nationalities and/or
cultures together. This meeting will be open
to our local Rotary partners, and the hope is that
the outcome will be that we can again host
some part of that program again.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS...This meeting
will be one you definitely won't want to miss!

A CHANGE IN MEMBERSHIP AND BOARD DIRECTOR

Julie Hahnke, who has brought so much enthusiasm and service to the Harbor Rotary, has recently had to resign to address her health issues full time. We thank her for her service and wish her only the best as she remains committed to the goal of service through her leadership with Cecropia Strong.

With Julie's departure, a Director position on the Board opened. With her great supportive attitude, Amy Hart has stepped into that position until July 1 when she will officially become vice-president of the Harbor Rotary. Thank you, Amy, for saying, "Yes, I'd be honored to serve." when you were asked.

There is an opportunity for accepting additional donations to increase the amount already allocated to the scholarship. Please see Linda or Jessica for specifics if you are considering making a donation.

ENDING POLIO
Still looking for a creative activity that could morph into a fundraiser for the Foundation's Polio Plus effort. Speak to a Board member with your idea(s).

The Ipswich Club is doing a clever
"P is for Polio...Plunge, Paddle or Pedal"
fundraiser. Read about it in the District
EBulletin newsletter.

Surely, we can put our creative minds together
to raise funds for this District Effort in January and February.
Put your thinking caps on, please!
