CLUB ELECTION

If you have a schedule conflict and cannot attend the meeting on Dec. 12 and if you want to cast your ballot via email, please let Don Doliber know so that he can email you a ballot (donald.doliber@comcast.net or 781-631-6938). All email ballots must be returned to the secretary (Don) by Mon. Dec. 11.

SLATE OF OFFICERS, 7/1/2024-6/30/2025

The following names are presented for members' consideration at the club election, Dec. 12.

Tri-Presidents: Jessica Barnett/Linda Doliber/Tricia Sullivan
Vice-President: Amy Hart
Treasurer: Vincent Carotenuto
Assistant Treasurer, Tim Shotmeyer
Secretary: Lesley Tracy
Directors:
Bob Erbetta, (2 yr. term)
Judy Gates, (1 yr. term)
Julie Hahnke, (2 yr. term)
Lauren McCormack (1 yr. term)

About the unusual tri-president suggested format for '24-'25: To date, no candidate for president has presented him/herself. Each candidate for tri-president above has had considerable experience in all things Rotary and, if elected, the three candidates will plan to divide responsibilities that correspond to their individual strengths. In addition, each candidate is enthusiastic about re-establishing our 2-3-year officer succession format in the future. If elected, they will pledge to continue mentoring new and newer members in the upcoming months so that the club can have confidence that the 27-year-old Marblehead Harbor Rotary will continue to be a healthy, growing leader in local and international service.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES....

All Members: Looking for ideas for service in the New Year! In the past three months, members have: cleaned up the rail trail from Salem Harbor to West Shore Drive and picked up items along the paths at the old Camp Shore Lea; scoped out Tailored for Success in Woburn for future volunteer opportunities or financial support; sorted out cranberry sauce, potatoes, pies, and other Thanksgiving donations for the M'head Food Pantry; and prepared and served dinner for the clients at Lifebridge.

SPUR is still looking for sponsors for Christmas bags. See their website. So, members are asked to keep an eye out in the community for possible service projects...in conjunction with other non-profit organizations or as a single effort by our club. If you find an opportunity that seems feasible, please present it to the Board at a short pre-holiday meeting on Dec. 21 or let a Board member know before that date.

ENDING POLIO

District 7930 will have a big push in January and February to encourage clubs to either fundraise for the Rotary Foundation's "Get Movin' to End Polio" effort or have programs that enlighten the public about Rotary's efforts. We are SO CLOSE!

May we start with a paragraph or two on our club's website? A volunteer writer? How about ordering some pr from Rotary International describing Rotary's participation in eradicating polio and obtaining permission from the school department to make that info available to school children's backpacks? Worth pursuing? Just ideas...welcoming others so that we can let the District leadership know that the Harbor Club is supportive and participating!
