9 Ways to Help - Food Drive!
The summer food drive starts this Tues., July 25th and goes through August 8th. It will benefit the Marblehead Food Pantry. Here are 9 ways you can help from Jessica:

  1. Bring canned fruit donations on Tues., July 25.
  2. Start bringing in spaghetti sauce as your August club donation.
  3. Contribute a bag-ful of donations based on “the list" to the drive boxes at one of 5 Marblehead locations during regular business hours (Crosby’s Marketplace, Marblehead Bank on Atlantic Ave., Marblehead Community Center (COA), National Grand Bank or Shubie’s. Full "list" at rcomh.org and via the club’s Facebook page)
  4. Spread the word: Repost the Summer Food Drive info from RCoMH’s Facebook page to your FB page to help the message go viral.
  5. Spread the word: Send the flyer PDF via email to your Marblehead friends. Note: John Williams sent the PDF to all members last week.
  6. Spread the word any way you can!
  7. Make a cash or check contribution in any amount and place it in our yellow “donation can” on July 25 or August 8. Checks can be made out directly to Marblehead Food Pantry.
  8. Plan to stay a little later after breakfast on Aug 1, Aug 8, and possibly Aug 15, to help count and sort the donations to the Food Pantry storage area downstairs at The Masons’ Building. Thank you to Dave Martin for giving us this extra time.
  9. Watch Headliner News on MHTV to see a brief segment on this project and to see how hard it is to keep the lower shelves stocked.

This 2-week effort will help 120 children and their families at a time of year when it is hardest to keep the Pantry's shelves stocked. As someone helping with this project said, “Any one of us could be one phone call or one diagnosis away from needing The Marblehead Food Pantry.” A sobering thought.

Special thanks to all of members who volunteered to serve on a team to oversee and monitor the contributions at the 5 donation box locations now through August 8!! Also, thank you, members of RCoMH, for living Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self” all year round and in this particular effort of Community Service.
