COME ABOARD!
THE ROTARY CLUB OF MARBLEHEAD HARBOR’S 90-MINUTE CRUISE OF SALEM SOUND
Thursday, August 25, 5:30 p.m.
Pickering Wharf Marina, Salem
$20 per person - Bring Guests!!
Let’s celebrate the last days of August in true “harbor” style with an evening cruise of Salem Sound arranged exclusively for Marblehead Harbor Rotarians and their guests aboard “Finback,” the 50-foot sightseeing boat owned and operated by Mahi Mahi Cruises. We’ll leave from Pickering Wharf Marina at 5:30 p.m. and will enjoy the next 90 minutes on calm, protected waters, with beautiful views of the shoreline, harbors, landmarks, lighthouses, estates and wildlife. Bring a sweater or jacket - it gets chilly on the water.
We’ll snack on wrap sandwiches prepared by Louise Moore, along with chips, cookies and light beverages. Plus there is a cash bar for more spirited refreshment. All of this for $20 per person — rain or shine — but cancelled in case of thunderstorms.
The capacity is 30 people, with a limit of one guest per member. Make your reservation with full payment on Tuesday at breakfast. There’s ample parking at the South Harbor Parking Garage and Pickering Wharf Parking Lot. For more information, contact John Williams.
SAVE THE DATE!
It’s the Club’s 20th Anniversary Celebration Potluck Cookout at Lenny Cameron’s homestead, 21 Green St., 1 - 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18. It’s full participation — because that’s how we do it in the Harbor Club! Sign up for the party element of your choice starting this Tuesday at breakfast and let us know how many people you’ll be bringing. More information to come!
PLEASE READ THIS FOLKS!
Although the Rotary International Manual of Procedure (a galaxy of rules, definitions and ways to live Rotary) doesn’t suggest why an individual club may honor its members or a member of the community with a Paul Harris Fellowship, we have done our best, over the years, to recognize members who have been of service, strength, loyalty and achievement in connection with the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor and the Marblehead community.
Each year the Board of Directors approves a $1,000 donation to the Rotary Foundation in the name of (3) deserving recipients, selected by members of the Club.
If you wish to make a nomination this year, and we hope you will, its very possible your selectman may be a Paul Harris Fellow already. It doesn’t matter and it is a happy thing to extend an honor to those who continue to be worthy. If you nominate someone from the community please provide as much good detail as you can on your reasons.
ELDERACT INVITATION
This is a special invitation to join us on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:30pm at The Bertram House in Swampscott to learn more about the ElderAct Club of Marblehead and Swampscott.
The ElderAct Club is an active senior volunteer group sponsored by the Swampscott Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor. The Members seek to give back by impacting lives in a positive constructive manner within our own communities and beyond. Our volunteers reach out to children, families, seniors, military and dependents.
A special thank you to our sponsors: Vinnin Square Liquors, Rumson's Rum and The Bertram House.
We will need a head count for refreshments, so please RSVP by August 31st to Joan McCormack at mccormackje@gmail.com or by calling her cell at 781-479-6316 or flagging her at a meeting!
Their goal is to share what the club has done to date and recruit new members. Please invite your friends and family who might like to join the EAC.
