Scuttlebutt    March 27, 2022

This week we are coming back home with Tyler Earp and his Eagle Scout Project in Marblehead.  We have had recent input about Madagascar, Ukraine, and the refugees from Afghanistan.    This week we will discuss this Eagle Scout project here in Marblehead.

As Bob E. mentioned we need all hands-on deck at our meetings and for our upcoming yard sale.  Last week when we had Lis Horowitz talk with us about welcoming Afghan refugees to the north shore, we had just 8 members on-site and 4 on zoom.  I am not sure how we can keep asking speakers to come to our meetings to share their expertise and passions if we, as members, do not come.  Coming soon we will have a speaker drive an hour to our meeting.  I hope that ALL of our members will be there in-person or on zoom.

Below is a listing of the committees for our upcoming yard sale.  ALL of us need to participate both by joining a committee and collecting items that can be sold.

Rotary International President-Elect Jennifer Jones recently addressed all our Rotary Club Presidents-Elect at the Northeast PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) in early March. Her powerful speech referenced her presidential theme - Imagine Rotary - and also related a story from her first few days in the RI PE office in Evanston and the power of connections across the Rotary world.
Her message is not only inspiring for Presidents-Elect, but for all Rotarians. You can now watch her speech and the following Q&A here: https://youtu.be/Aur2YZXoRNI
