SHE’LL GET AROUND
 Eloisa Elston
Rotarians at work, make a difference. Eloisa Elston has a safer way to get around. After 5 years skate boarding her way to school and just about everywhere else, she now owns a bicycle. Judith Black, a family friend, put the word out (see details in last week’s Scuttlebutt). John Williams gifted the bicycle, Steve Lipsky donated the lock, Michael Cognata took care of the helmet, and Judith offered the rearview mirror. All Eloisa needs now is a quick road safety class with Bob Picariello.

ARE THEY ELDERACTing up?
ElderAct’s Linda Maffeo, Joan Cutler, Chickie Curtis and Amy Lockerbie-Smith will visit our Club tomorrow as guest speakers. For the notable Rotary spin off organization, service and fun go hand-in-hand as they prepare dinner for guests at Lifebridge, grow, harvest and deliver organic vegetables to elderly housing, and sing for and with people living with dementia at Bertram House of Swampscott, Residence at Vinnin Square and Devereux House in Marblehead. They certainly keep busy, and our visiting friends will tell us all about what they’re up to.

DON’T BE LEFT ONSHORE…
The Finback
Thursday, August 23, Arrive by 5:15 p.m.
Pickering Wharf Marina, Salem
$25 per person
In just a little over a week we set sail on “The Finback” for our club’s 90-minute evening & supper cruise complete with beautiful coastal scenery and good times together.
So, come celebrate the last days of August in true “harbor” style with a cruise of Salem Sound arranged exclusively for Marblehead Harbor Rotarians and their guests (one guest per member).
Arrive at Pickering Wharf Marina by 5:15 p.m. Enjoy the next 90 minutes featuring beautiful views of the shoreline, harbors, landmarks, lighthouses, estates and wildlife. Bring a sweater or jacket - it gets chilly on the water.
We’ll snack on wrap sandwiches prepared by Louise Moore, along with chips, cookies and light beverages. Plus, there is a cash bar for more spirited refreshment.
All of this for $25 per person — rain or shine — but cancelled in case of thunderstorms. There’s ample parking at the South Harbor Parking Garage and Pickering Wharf Parking Lot.
Please give full payment to Jessica Barnett to secure your reservation before the opportunity slips by. Please contact John Williams for more information.
