Rob Deiana went all the way and helped the club raise about $1,000 to eradicate polio, during the Polar Plunge at Long Beach in Cape Ann. That was a good take for a little cold bath :) We will update the final amount raised after some pledged contributions come in, and after a special edition of Fines & Happy Dollars at our club meeting next week.

WELCOME LAUREN AND PETER
The RCOMH would like to welcome new members Lauren McCormack and Peter Cohen. After their approval by the Board, and in the absence of any registered objection from the membership, their induction will be announced soon.

TOUGH BITE
Starting today, the full breakfast cost will increase to $12.00 and the beverage option will increase to $6.00. The Board regrets this action was necessary to assure the financial wellbeing of the club.

$11,500 RAISED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

John Lindahl reports that the annual scholarship dinner raised approximately $11,500 for the Marblehead Scholarships Fund. SB’s guess is that 40ish people attended the fellowshiop, drinks and food night at The Landing. The restaurant donated 20% of the event receipts to the Fund.

WE NEED YOU NEW CLUB MEMBERS

March 24th is New Member Day. We are all encouraged to invite one or more relative, friend, co-worker, neighbor or trusted acquaintance to join the club. Ask Kathleen for invitation cards that the club printed for this event. We are planning a special meeting and will discuss details at the meeting. Please e-mail Kathleen with suggestions or speak with her at the meeting.

C.O.R.I. FOR VOLUNTEERS

Members who would like to volunteer to visit homebound individuals, must first go through the CORI process (Criminal Offender Record Information) on March 4th at 11:00 AM at the Council on Aging. Please bring a photo I.D. The application is free.

ORGANIC LANDSCAPING

A free seminar on Organic Landscaping will be held today, March 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Abbot Library.
