Scuttlebutt May 8th, 2022

This week I would like each of us to share a memory, a fun time, an experience we have had with Cyndi.  Cyndi was such an integral part of our club and for many of us an important part of our lives.  As has been said many time, “we are a family” and one member of our family is now gone.

This Tuesday is a Club Assembly otherwise known as the business meeting.  Our primary business now is the Yard Sale.  We all have to chip in to make this successful.

Bob, one of the co-chairs, will need help with logistics, the new word for moving things around.  The tables need to be moved from St. Stephens up to Jess’s on Friday then set up around the yard.  I have a futon that needs to be moved from my back room to Jess’s.  Anybody else have large items that will need moving?   Anyone with muscles who can help lift?  Please check in with Bob.

Donation items can be brought Tuesday at our meeting or after Tuesday afternoon to Jess’s home.  She has allocated different rooms in her home for sorting items.  Linda D has suggested volunteers who will help price items are needed Thursday and Friday.  Please call Linda to volunteer.

For both Saturday 8-1,  Sunday 12-4 we need people to “women” the tables.  Please sign up in 2 hour shifts.   Please wear rotary tee shirts if you have one and your pins so you can be identified.

Our scholarship committee is reviewing applicants and will have information to share with us soon.  The success of our yard sale will partially determine how generous we can be in both scholarships and other allocations.

Instillation:  The Board agreed with the suggestion that our instillation this year be at a breakfast meeting.  June 21 is the preliminary date chosen.  A full breakfast will be served. We would like ALL of are members to participate in this important milestone in our club.  Please be there to cheer on Jess and the new Board and to thank the leadership who have worked hard to keep our club viable during this past Rotary year.  Please let Tricia know if you will attend so she can give Louise an accurate number.
