The Town will hold a Special Town Meeting on Saturday, October 17th at 9:00am. The meeting will take place at 80 Atlantic Avenue, Our Lady Star of the Sea Community Center parking lot. Please click here to view the Special Town Meeting warrant. If the link does not work it is: Membership Committee will meet after our Tuesday meeting. The committee welcomes Alex Falk from the District Membership committee to the meeting. Artist’s Reception and POPS committee: The artwork has been framed and looks fabulous. The recordings are mostly completed. The web page is working for both donations and for purchases. You all have been mailed information about the POPS, the sponsorship levels, and how to purchase. We need everyone to encourage merchants and individuals to support our primary fundraiser. AND we need to get the word out so we have an audience! Please make a new email group from your contact list for folks to invite. A good activity for the game on Monday. Service Committee and all Members: We will meet next Tuesday after our regular meeting. All please try to stay on the zoom meeting. From Lisa at the COA. They need help with distribution. Boston Food Bank deliveries are once a month on the first Monday of the month (unless there is a holiday). When we have 50 people the food is delivered here. When we don’t it’s delivered to the Peabody COA and we pick up. It’s month to month. Karyn Smith handles this. The Elderact group assists with sorting the food/boxes we receive. We are looking for delivery assistance. Typically the Charter Veggie boxes are Wednesdays. Right now they are on hold. The Charter School notifies me and Karyn Smith when boxes are ready and we let them know when we’ll be there. The Friends of the COA annual membership drive will be at the end of this month. They are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help prepare and stuff over 9,000 envelopes. Typically the High School kids would assist. We are looking to have people stuff envelopes here at the Center as well as at their homes and this has to be well coordinated. We all can help with this! |
