ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT VISITS CHILDREN'S RETREAT
A huge honor at this week's session of the Children's Retreat!
Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo visited our incredible initiative
this week that's impacting the lives of hundreds of Ukrainian children
learning to cope with the death of their soldier-fathers.
Rotary Club Zamość Ordynacki and Common Man for Ukraine's Children's Retreat
in Zakopane, Poland, provides group and individual mental healthcare,
a much-needed respite from the war zone, and an opportunity to build lifelong bonds
with peers who truly understand what they're experiencing.
Launched in 2014, the Children's Retreat expanded to monthly sessions in 2022 with the support of
Common Man for Ukraine and each and every one of you reading this.
More than 1,600 Ukrainian children have started their healing journeys thanks to this Rotary-based initiative
and the service-above-self volunteers who make it possible.
Co-founders Susan Mathison and Steve Rand were honored to spend the week in Poland
visiting with both the Mothers' Retreat and Children's Retreat,
welcoming Rotary International Pres. Arezzo on Friday.
To support this impactful program, make your one-time or monthly donation today
at commonmanforukraine.org.

Club reading project recommendation:
In preparation for the 250th Celebration in Marblehead,
let's all read or re-read
The Indispensables:
The Diverse Soldier-Mariners Who Shaped the Country, Formed the Navy,
and Rowed Washington Across the Delaware
by Patrick K. O'Donnell
This reading project - to truly appreciate Marblehead's and Glover's Regiment's
role in establishing this nation - was inspired by Bob's comment that a historian
friend told him that there would not be independence or a nation without
Marblehead and Glover's Regiment who saved the movement three times.

Friends of Marblehead Parks Announces Perennial Native Plant Sale
First-Ever Fundraiser Features Native Perennials, Shrubs, and Pollinator Plants to Support Local Parks
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Friends of Marblehead Parks invites the community to its first-ever plant sale
fundraiser on Friday, June 20, from 9:00-!2:00 at the Marblehead Community Center,
10 Humphrey Street, Marblehead, MA. The sale will feature a curated selection of native perennials,
shrubs, and pollinator plants — all chosen to thrive in New England gardens while benefiting
local ecosystems.
Adding native plants to your garden is a meaningful step toward a healthier environment.
Native species support biodiversity, promote natural plant health, and eliminate the need
for extensive watering, chemical treatments, and manufactured nutrients — making them
an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.
This plant sale marks the first fundraiser for the Friends of Marblehead Parks,
a community organization whose mission is to improve the visual appeal, biodiversity,
and sustainability of Marblehead’s parks through community projects, education, and engagement.
