GRANTS
Our club signed the
Memo of Understanding (MOU)
following the Grant Qualification Seminar
at last week's District Assembly
making us eligible to apply for
District Managed Grants.
District Matching Community Grants -
$500 to $3,000
Deadline to Apply - October 31, 2023
District Matching Contributions
to Global Grants - $2,500 to $5,000
All grants must address
at least 1 of the 7 Areas of Focus
If you have an idea for a grant project,
please see Linda Doliber.
Please also note that the Rotary Foundation "returned" $89,124 to our District for these grants. That amount is based on the amount our District contributed to
the Rotary Foundation three years ago.
So, everything you contribute
to the Rotary Foundation
has local and international benefits.

Signature Service Discussion Updates
The four projects that were proposed at last week's Club Assembly are listed below along with updates on the discussion status of each suggestion. Please note these ideas are still in development, suggestions are welcome and members will receive more updates as more information becomes available.
1. Hammond Park / Honoring Marine Corps Aviation
The park and its dedication to Marine Corps Aviation was inspired by Don Humphries, a beloved member of the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor. The Marblehead Club has raised funds and has already planned to work on the park this year. The Marblehead Club has said these plans cover this year as more extensive plans for the Harbor and the park are still being reviewed by the Town and other agencies. The Marblehead Club knows that our club is interested in being helpful in their efforts.
2. Shaded Benches / Marblehead for All Ages
This project was inspired by Heidi Whear's presentation to our club. No investigation into the possibilities has taken place yet.
3. Small Forest Gardens
Definitely still under consideration. It has been suggested that a trip to Cambridge be taken to see some of these gardens in place.
4. "Feed the Hungry"
This project is being actively explored with conversations also taking into consideration the desire to provide non-GMO foods and plastic packaging alternatives.
