Scuttlebutt August 15, 2021 Happy mid August. At least to me it does not seem like we have really had summer yet. And now many schools are already starting. I liked it better when school did not start till after Labor Day.
This Tuesday Jean Hamburg will be joining us to talk about refugees. As a club we have supported the Mariposa House in Lynn where many refugees have found a local home. We will have both an in-person and a zoom meeting beginning at 7:30. At the Masons we will have coffee, tea, and pastries.
We have all heard about the tragedy in Haiti. A member has questioned whether we want to sponsor a Shelter box. I am finding out information on that and will get back to you all.
We are making plans for our Membership meeting on September 14 th, Covid-Delta variant willing. A sample letter of invitation is attached. Please feel free to send as is or change to have the letter from you. We encourage every member to bring at least one person who you think would make a good Rotarian. Service is so needed in our community and world. The more members we have the better able we will be to meet the need.
