Scuttlebutt February 20th, 2022
We have had a long string of cold weather.  Makes winter seem very long, and we have one more month, at least, to go.  BUT we have two things to look forward to.  This week we have Samantha O'Connell, Ph.D, talking with us about Forensic Psychology.  My novels do this, but I would like to find out what it is for real.  After last week’s presentation by Judith on love and relationships this is a different path.

The other wonderful thing to look forward to is that WE WILL MEET IN PERSON NEXT WEEK.  YEA US!!!!!  The meeting will be hybrid meaning it will be on zoom and in-person.  So if you can not get to the Masons we can come to you in your home or wherever you are.  We will have coffee/tea and pastries.  Cost about $7:50.
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR FUNDS! Got your attention? It’s never too early to clean house and simplify life! When so many of us are still cocooning because of the winter weather or COVID, this is a great opportunity to begin setting aside items that have outlived their usefulness to you and your family. Too small? No longer the right color for your decor? Read and reread many times? Unused tools? Moved on to a different hobby? Let’s all begin putting aside items for our Giant Yard Sale May 14 and 15 at the Barnett’s. Plunk a large cardboard box in an unused corner of your home and be pleasantly surprised in a short amount of time how many articles appear that someone else may love. Questions? Call Linda D. 781-631-6938.

Linda D and Tricia met with the Board members of the MHD club this past Tuesday.  MHD Rotary will join with us in our District grant.  Between the two clubs and the District support we will contribute $6,000 to the Health & Wellness Police Gym Equipment.  In our club survey most of our members wanted us to provide local community service.  This initiative fulfills that.  Thank you, Linda D for all your work initiating the project, writing the grant, talking with the MHD club, and coordinating with the District.  A job well done.

A follow up on Mike’s fundraising suggestion about town chefs providing lessons. While Linda and I were at the Landing I spoke with Alex Pineda the chef.  He was in the bar room while we were waiting for the meeting to begin.  I floated the idea of a cooking lesson to benefit the Landing and us.  After saying it was a good idea, he began to talk logistics.  How would he set up a cooking station behind the bar and then we would need multiple stations throughout the room.  We then thought about folks at home zooming in.  He would have told us what to buy and we could cook along with him.  He likes the idea.  So, Mike you have one enthusiastic possibility.
