TUESDAY IS WORLD POLIO DAY
We celebrate the strides that Rotary, in partnership with the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Bill and Linda Gates Foundation have made since the late 1980's in eradicating the wild polio virus worldwide...with the exception of two countries: Pakistan and Afghanistan. The fight is not over as newborn infants still need the drops and war and cultural differences are challenges that must still be addressed, including post-polio syndrome. On Tuesday, we'll hear a bit more about that from Francie.
What can you do now? When you consider your charitable giving budget, make a contribution to Rotary's Polio Plus campaign. It's easy: Just go to Rotary.org, scroll down and click on Donate and you can designate your contribution to Polio Plus. The Gates Foundation will match your donation 2:1.
Your giving, in any amount, will purchase vaccine and enable on-site workers to administer and track the inoculations of the villages they visit.

November Service Opportunity

Never have served at LifeBridge? It's easy!
And the comradery of the servers is fun! Arrive at 3:30 p.m., peel and cut veggies, stir pots, plate and serve a hot dinner to very appreciative clients. Cleanup is done by the clients and your service is more likely done by 6:00 p.m.
Tricia and Linda from the Board have already signed up. Jessica will be supplying a food product, as she has a previous engagement that night. About 4-5 additional Rotarians will be needed. Please let Judith Black know if you can be a valuable part of the kitchen crew

October 19 Note from the Board:
The Board voted to reimburse 100% of the registration fee for any new or newer club member who attends both sessions of Part I of the two-night Zoom Rotary Leadership Institute February 27 and 29, 2024. Members who attend the two nights of Parts II and III will be reimbursed 50% of the registration fee. Member development and knowledge about Rotary is an important part of ensuring a healthy, happy club. The sessions are interactive and are not lecture based. Meet Rotarians from multi districts. Let Linda Doliber know if you plan to attend. More info as the date draws nearer.
